Temple By-Laws
The fiscal and administrative year of the Temple shall be from January 01 thru December 31.
Board of Directors:
The present Board of Directors comprises of six board members. K.C. Jain - President Mahendra Maru - Vice President Sumir Bhateja - Secretary Kuldeep Pandit - Treasurer M.S. and Daya Krishna - Fund raising Chairman A. The term of the board shall be 3 years and the present board term expires on December 31, 2012 . B. The board shall conduct regular meetings of its own on as needed basis and shall hold at least two general body meetings in a year. C. Board is empowered to invest funds for the purpose of the construction of the Temple and related activities. D. The board is empowered to do fund raising for the Temple project from with in the Tri-state area and outside sources as the board seems fit. E. Board can be expanded by the majority vote or by General body.
Temple Hall shall be used for the purposes either mentioned in these
Bylaws or as approved by majority board members.
A. Temple Hall shall be used for practicing Hindu religious Sansangs, Pujas, Religious lectures by Saints, Sadhus and other leant people in Hindu religion. B. Temple hall shall be used for celebration of all kinds of religious functions irrespective of the belief with in the Hindu religion. C. Temple Hall is primarily for religious celebrations however can the Temple Hall can be used by members for other social/ personal and religious celebrations such as birth day parties, anniversaries, marriages, retirement parties and see off parties etc. In case of conflict religious functions will take priority. D. Temple Hall can be used for religious discourses, yoga classes, or any other adult and kids lectures or meetings. E. In all circumstances/ celebrations and parties, the sanctity of the Hall can not be compromised. Only Vegetarian food and the non alcoholic drinks will be allowed in the Temple premises including the parking lot, with absolutely and positively NO EXCEPTIONS. F. Temple kitchen shall be used for serving and warming the food only not cooking the food for parties, minor cooking is allowed. G. The cleaning of the Temple hall is the responsibility of the Host of the function. H. All hosts shall be required to pay donation for using the Hall, donation will depend on type of function and the donation will be determined by the board from time to time. I. Temple premises can be used for playing outdoor games such as Volley ball, Cricket, Basket ball and soccer etc.
A. The membership fee will be determined by the board and approved
by the General body, presently the membership fee will be $365.00
per year. First $365.00 paid as donation will be considered as the
membership fee. $100.00 for singles and free for students.
B. Members will have right to vote in the general body meeting and will be have special rights being a part of the Temple. C. Members shall have preference in using the Temple Hall for their religious or non-religious personal activities. The members shall be discouraged to reserve the Hall for non-members. Board may impose double fee/ rent if found out the reservation was done for non-members.
In last general body meeting following three important committees
were formed to get the Temple project getting off the ground:
A. Fund Raising Committee; Ashok Dhingra- Chairman B. Building Committee: K.C. Jain- Chairman C. Bylaws committee: Deepak Chaudhary- Chairman D. All are requested to cooperate with the committees and participate as committee members if asked If any member wants to serve on the committee, contact the chair person. The bylaws can be revised at the discretion of the board and with the approval of the general body. All decisions shall be taken in a democratic way by a majority vote of the present members. At least three members of the board must approve any revisions. (Draft copy of the Bylaws were sent to Community for comments on May 01, 2006, several comments were received, all comments were discussed in the in the general body meeting on June 10, 2006 and the attached Bylaws were approved in that meeting) |
